The best computer use for Omarchy.

ibara gives your agents computer use across the Omarchy computers you own, built into Omarchy itself. Your agent works on a spare with its own browser and apps, while you keep working on yours.

Free and open source. Your hardware. No monthly bill.

ibara in action

Interactive demo: Claude Code and ibara on a fleet of Omarchy computers.

01 / THE IDEA

Your agent works there.
You keep working here.

Name a computer and give your agent a task. It works there, with its own browser and apps, while you carry on with yours.

YOU ASK
“On spare-mini, open the new menu and check it with the mouse and keyboard. Take a screenshot and tell me what did and didn’t work. Don’t change system settings.”

Same agent. Another computer.

IT BRINGS BACK
  • ✓Menu opens with the mouse
  • ✓Focus order is correct with Tab
  • ✗Enter doesn’t open the Settings submenu

2 screenshots · report delivered to your computer

Real input on a real desktop.

Your agent clicks, types and uses the apps on that computer, one step at a time, with its own named cursor that shows its typing and key presses. It never moves your real pointer or keyboard focus.

Your own desktop stays fast.

The agent’s work runs on the other computer, with its own screen and resources. Yours stays free for your work.

Watch it, or step in.

Follow the work from ibara, and take over whenever you want to.

02 / NATIVE TO OMARCHY

At home in Omarchy.

ibara is a plugin for the Omarchy shell, not another web console. It sits in your bar, follows your theme, and opens a native window with every computer you’ve connected.

See at a glance which machines are ready, which have an agent working and which you’re using. A working card shows the agent’s current step, such as “Clicking the ‘Sign Up’ button”, with a ripple where it clicks and Done when the task finishes. Open one to watch its screen, send it a file or take control. Apply Theme to Fleet puts your Omarchy theme on every computer at once.

Keep your desktop. Keep your agent. Add somewhere else to work.

In your bar, with every computer in one window.

03 / WHAT IT’S FOR

Checked, not just claimed.

The agent built the page. Now let it use it. It opens the browser, tries the menu, fills in the form and checks what happens, all on a computer of its own.

Check the actual interface.

Have your agent try a browser flow or a desktop app, see what happened, and come back with evidence, not just a report that the code looks right.

Five agents. Five computers. At once.

One checks a web app. Another works through a dashboard. Give each agent a computer and let the tasks run side by side.

Use the other machine yourself.

Open any of your computers, take control, make the change you need, and hand it back when you’re finished.

04 / CONTROL

You choose who’s driving.

See your computers together in Omarchy. Watch the work, take control when you want to step in, and hand it back when you’re done.

Each computer decides who may watch it, move files, take control or run agent tasks. A card that needs you pulses, and an approval arrives in the corner of the console within about a second.

Watching never takes control. The agent keeps working.

The agent pauses before your input begins. Nobody types over anyone.

When you’re done, the computer is free for the next task.

One active driver per desktop. A clear handoff. How access works

05 / YOUR HARDWARE

Your agent needs somewhere to work. That old computer might be enough.

The spare runs Omarchy, your apps and ibara. The model runs wherever your agent already runs, so the spare doesn’t need a fast processor or a GPU, only enough to run the apps you want it to use.

Our test machines are two five-year-old ACEPC mini PCs with a 10-watt Celeron. No monitor or mouse needed: a mini PC on a shelf is enough.

Add computers as you have work for them. Each one appears on the same fleet wall, with its own state and its own permissions.

06 / A COMPUTER OF ITS OWN

Your agent should have
its own computer.

Another workspace, a VM or a headless browser on your own computer, or a VM in the cloud: here’s how they compare with a spare computer your agent has to itself.

Many sensitive sites, such as marketplaces, banks and ticketing, flag traffic from data-center IP addresses and browsers running in a VM or headless mode. A spare on your own connection is simply an ordinary computer on an ordinary network. Sites keep their own rules, and your agent should follow them.

What owning it costs.

Owning costs electricity. Renting costs by the hour or by the month, for as long as you use it. Try your own numbers.

07 / GET STARTED

Connect a computer.
Give it a task.

You need Omarchy and Tailscale on each computer, and an agent that can use MCP tools, such as Claude Code or Codex. Two computers is the setup ibara is built for and tested on.

  1. 01

    Install on both.

The same one-line install on each computer. The spare runs no model.

  2. Add it, or match the code on both.
    02

    Add the spare.

Open Add Computer from the ibara mark in your bar. Your own computers join with one click; someone else’s shows a code on both screens to match.

  3. Every check, passed or failed, with proof.
    03

    Give it a task.

Paste the prompt from Connect an Agent into your agent once. Then ask as usual and name the computer. Start with the practice task: nothing to log in to, nothing to break.

REGISTERED MACHINES

Register your machine.

Old laptop, mini PC, a tower that’s been in a corner for years: if it runs Omarchy, it can be an agent computer. Add yours to the wall. Every entry is reviewed before it appears.

09 / FAQ

Straight answers.

The common questions first. Don’t see yours? Ask it at the end of the list.

Is ibara another AI agent?

No. ibara gives your agents computer use across the Omarchy computers you own, built into Omarchy itself: the agent you already use gets a computer to work on. Conversation and reasoning stay in your agent.

Does the spare computer need to run the model?

No. The spare runs Omarchy, your apps and ibara. The model runs wherever your agent runs.

Do I need a powerful new machine?

No. ibara is lightweight and built for basic hardware: both of our test computers are low-power Celeron mini PCs. See tested hardware for the details.

Can I control the computers without an agent?

Yes. Watch, take control and move files yourself. No agent needed.

Is everything private and offline?

The work happens on your hardware and network, and each machine enforces who can use it. Your agent’s model provider may still see screenshots and task details, the same as with any computer-use agent. Local-first doesn’t mean offline. What leaves the computer.

What does it cost?

Nothing. ibara is free and open source, the core and its Omarchy plugin under MIT, and the bundled stream and viewer under GPL-3.0. You can find the source on GitHub. No subscription and no rented computers. If you want help deploying a fleet, Tyler, ibara’s developer, offers paid setup and support.

Does it run on Ubuntu, Windows, macOS or any Linux box?

ibara is built for Omarchy, and every release goes deeper into it. ibara doesn’t run on Ubuntu, Windows, macOS or other Linux distributions, and none of them are planned. See the roadmap.

Which systems and agents are supported?

Omarchy 4, which ibara is built for. Any agent that can use MCP tools works: ibara is an MCP server, so it works with Claude Code, Codex, opencode, omp or your own harness. Paste the prompt from Connect an Agent, or what ibara prompt prints, and the agent connects itself: it adds the ibara server, links the ibara skill and adds a short note to its instructions file. How to connect yours.

We keep the questions you ask to improve the answers.

might already be in a drawer.
