Install ibara.

ibara is built for two Omarchy computers: the one you use every day, and a spare your agent works on. Install it on both, add the spare, connect your agent and give it a first task. Free and open source.

Before you start#

Two Omarchy 4 computers is the setup ibara is built for and tested on: your everyday machine and a spare for the work, powered on, logged in and unlocked. Check the requirements.
Tailscale on every computer, signed in to the same tailnet. ibara opens no public internet listener.
Your own account on each computer, able to use sudo. Run the installer as yourself, not as root; it asks for your password when it needs sudo.
An agent that can use MCP tools. Claude Code, Codex, opencode, omp or your own harness. Connecting agents.

Installing ibara changes system services and firewall rules. If a computer holds anything you care about, back it up before you start.

1 · Install on each computer#

ibara is one package, and every computer gets the same install: each one can watch the others and be used by an agent. On each computer, run this as yourself:

It downloads the newest release, checks its signature and each package’s digest, and installs ibara with pacman, including the screen streaming and viewer that Take Control uses. Then ibara setup finishes the setup, with your password for sudo, and puts ibara in your bar. Every click and keystroke your agent makes, in apps and in web pages, goes through Cua.

The ibara mark appears in your bar. Click it for the quick panel, or right-click it to open the console and its fleet wall.

2 · Add the spare#

In the console on your computer, choose Add Your First Computer (later, Add Computer). It lists the computers on your tailnet and whether ibara is ready on each.
Choose Add beside the spare. Your own computers join with one click, and Add Your 2 Computers (with your own count) adds every one of them that’s ready.
A computer someone else owns shows the same six-digit code on both screens. A person at that computer checks that they match and accepts; one with no screen accepts with ibara join. A request waits five minutes. With an invite code from its owner, choose I Have an Invite Code instead.

Your own computers come with every permission. A computer someone else accepts gives you Watch and Files until they share more. How access works.

3 · Connect your agent#

In the console, choose Connect an Agent in the fleet’s toolbar, then Copy Prompt, and paste it to your agent. This is the prompt:

Connect yourself to ibara, which is installed on this computer. Do these three things:

1. Add its MCP server, the command `ibara mcp` (stdio, no arguments), to your own MCP settings as a user-level server named `ibara`, keeping all your other settings. If a server named `ibara` already exists, replace it.
2. Link the folder /usr/share/ibara/skills/ibara into your user-level skills folder as `ibara`, so updates reach you. If your harness has no skills folder, skip this; step 3 names the file. If an `ibara` skill is already there and is not that link, leave it and tell me.
3. Add this block to your user-level instructions file (AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md or your harness's equivalent). If a block with the same markers is there, replace it:

The MCP server `ibara` lets you use real computers your person owns: desktop apps, a signed-in browser, the screen and files. When a task needs real input, a real browser session, a visual check or work on another computer, call ibara's `computer_status` and follow the ibara skill (/usr/share/ibara/skills/ibara/SKILL.md). Keep code, git, tests and pages you can fetch where you are.

Then call ibara's `computer_status` tool. If its tools won't appear until you restart, say so and ask me to restart you and paste this prompt again; doing it twice is safe. Tell me which computers you can use and which of the three steps you did.

The agent adds the ibara server, links the ibara skill and adds a short note to its instructions file, then tells you which computers it can use. If it can’t load new tools without a restart, it asks you to restart it and paste the prompt again. ibara never edits your agent’s files itself. It works with Claude Code, Codex, opencode, omp or any agent that can use MCP servers. Your agent can then see which computers it may use, start a task on one, look at the screen, click and type, move files, and finish with a report. 4 · Run a first task#

Use the practice page. It’s safe to test, needs no login, and changes nothing. Paste this into your agent, with your spare’s name:

On spare-mini, open https://ibara.app/practice and check the Settings menu with the mouse and the keyboard. Take a screenshot and tell me what worked. Don’t change system settings.

What success looks like: you watch the spare’s screen in ibara while the agent opens the page, uses the menu with its own cursor, and comes back with a screenshot and a short pass/fail report. Take Control at any point, then Hand Back.

Stop, update or remove#

Pause Agents on a computer in the console stops all agent input at once. Resume lets agents work again.
Remove Access in a computer’s Access tab takes away every permission one paired computer and its agents have there. Remove Pairing ends the pairing. Remove Computer, in a card’s ⋯ menu or on its System tab, takes a computer off your fleet. Each asks first.
Update with the command below. ibara --version shows the installed release, ibara update --check only says whether there’s a newer one, and ibara rollback goes back to the release you had before your last update.

To uninstall, run the command below. It keeps this computer’s identity and pairings for a later install; ibara uninstall --delete-data removes everything. Then ask each agent you connected to remove its ibara server, its ibara skill link and the ibara block in its instructions file.

After a Hyprland update, ibara rebuilds its input plugin by itself; it loads the next time you sign in.

License and cost#

ibara is free and open source: the core under the GPL-3.0 license (MayberryDT/ibara) and its Omarchy plugin under MIT (MayberryDT/omarchy-ibara). There is no paid tier and no account. Your agent and its model provider may have their own costs, and so does the electricity for your spare. If you’d like help planning or deploying a fleet, Cirlet offers paid setup and support.
